Go ahead ... try it! The answers are below so you don't have to wait....I like instant gratification too!

1. There's one "sport" in which neither the spectators nor the participants know the score or the leader until the contest ends. What is it?

2. What famous North American landmark is constantly moving backward?

3. Of all vegetables, only two can live to produce on their own for several growing seasons. All other vegetables must be replanted every year. What are the only two perennial vegetables?

4. Name the only sport in which the ball is... (more)

Pit Bulls and Neighbors

My Sunday evening sucked. Two pit bulls (that I didn't even know were in the neighborhood) escaped through their owner's fence (across the street). Apparently, there are enough missing boards to let the Hulk through. Anyway, they tried to attack a man walking his dog on a leash. My friend, Eric, was able to grab the two dogs by their spike collars and pull them down. He's a big guy, 6'3" tall and 210 lbs. We got the dogs into my garage. They attempted to get through the passage way door into my home but thankfully I have a good bolt lock. Called the police/animal control. They took the... (more)

Updates and a comeback

Hello Everyone...

I know I've been gone for way too long.....and I'm going to attempt to make a comeback. I don't blog from work because I am too concerned about the big brother stuff and getting into trouble for doing so. Besides, where I work...they monitor your web surfing, etc. And---some blog sites (blogger.com and others) are literally restricted sites and notations are made you were attempting to access them!

I'm having all kinds of trouble with my AOL and my home computer...so I have a laptop I'm going to get busy with.

I am okay. I'm poor...very poor (not that I was... (more)

Hey! Not that I like cleaning -- because I don't!!!

But if you are going to have to do it (or someone is going to have to do it) and you don't want to spend those hard earned funds on cleaning solutions and other smelly chemicals which are going to destroy your lungs and skin...........I just found this cool site for alternative cleaning methods that don't cost a fortune or send you off to the respiratory hospitals.

Turns out Grandma was probably right....

check it out: Cleaning it

I could even be persuaded to experiment....

Tears and thanks

Hi Everyone

I'm just not able to really "blog" these days....

I do truly appreciate all the lovely and supportive comments and emails you have all sent me.

Seems I vacillate between tears and happy and when I'm like this..I pretty much stay silent.

A life long fight with depression isn't easy to always balance when there are other life, work, financial issues going on.

So, trite as it may seem, I do think about all of you and wish I had the emotional charge right now to be able to blog and read blogs....

maybe it'll be back before I know it.

Love to you all

Hi Everyone

Sorry for the lapse in reading/writing blogs..I'm in the recuperation mode right now.

He is gone and I am trying to clean up the leftover mess in my home, garage, basement, head and heart. I had to take the pets to a kennel in order to be sure they were safe. I took myself elsewhere to make sure I was safe.

We are back home now...the furkids and me.

Now I have a lot of work to do physically re-organizing and re-arranging and I'm trying to get that done. Taking a week off from work this week for some downtime to do these things. Learning to take care of my yard... (more)

An evening of light - Dr. Maya Angelou

Let's see---I've been to rock concerts, ballets, the opera, you name it...

tonight was special... An Evening With Dr. Maya Angelou.

What a remarkable woman. 77 years young with a gleam in her eye, a loving heart, a wise woman of the world, a sensitive spirit, an old soul with a young mind.....She is amazing. Truly amazing. She read poetry - both hers and others. Challenged us to read African American poetry from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The best??? She sang "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine"....and told the story of lights...the lights that we are to... (more)
